ALFONSO
GELATERIA
Gelateria Interior Design & Fit-Out
Alfonso Gelateria's new Oxford flagship marks the next stage in the development of an established Cotswold brand, bringing its distinctive gelato and visual identity into a city setting for the first time.

Located on Little Clarendon Street in Jericho, the project provided an opportunity to evolve the existing Alfonso identity for a different environment and pattern of use. While its Cotswold locations are predominantly daytime destinations, the Oxford venue needed to feel equally at home later into the evening, reflecting the changing energy of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Lynrace Studio was appointed to develop the interior design, working with an established operational layout while refining the customer experience, material palette, lighting, acoustics, furniture and principal joinery. The project also included landlord approvals, shopfront signage and external seating, with a fast design and construction programme leading up to opening.
The design builds on Alfonso's signature coral and vanilla hues through a richer palette of travertine, cognac leather, brushed stainless steel and warm pink terra walls. Bold striped tiles introduce a playful graphic element, while the sculptural sapele timber counter forms the centrepiece of the interior. Softer lighting, upholstered seating and natural finishes create a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere beyond the service area.
The result retains the colour, character and playfulness of the established Alfonso brand while giving its Oxford flagship a more contemporary and urban expression. A gelateria designed for a quick stop, a longer pause and the transition from daytime into a Jericho evening.
