Multi-Level Chinese Restaurant

Wokava occupies the former Co-operative Bank building opposite the Westgate Centre, transforming a prominent but underused city-centre property into an authentic, multi-level Chinese dining destination. Lynrace Studio is leading the reconfiguration and change of use of the 699 m² building to create two distinct restaurant experiences across three floors: a ground-floor fast-paced Wokava concept and an upper-level Ji-Me restaurant featuring private dining, karaoke suites, and a dedicated commercial kitchen. The design includes a new façade and shopfront, upgraded vertical circulation through food lifts, reworked internal layouts, and a refined fire and escape strategy for a complex multi-storey hospitality environment. Our scope also covers statutory approvals, interior concept development, consultant coordination, technical design, and management of site constraints within a highly trafficked city-centre location. When complete, Wokava and Ji-Me will deliver an immersive and contemporary Chinese dining experience, elevating a landmark building into a vibrant cultural venue for Oxford.
